Sounds nice at first, but I’d be concerned about the added weight of the big six. I’m wondering if an M50 or M52 might not be a better choice, although those aren’t period. Most people would go for a variant of the M20, but even though I’ve had good luck over the years with M20s I still think that the idea of a timing belt on an interference engine is asinine.
If you are going to go period and big six, go nuts and make it an S88 or S38. But the M30B35 is a fantastic engine, and probably the best choice for an affordable, easy to maintain big six build. I just love the sound of that engine when it starts, with that nice metallic ring to it.
